Threaded Flange
A threaded flange is a type of flange that has a thread on its inner bore, which allows it to be screwed onto a threaded pipe or fitting. It is commonly used in low-pressure piping systems where welding is not practical or allowed.
Threaded flanges are typically made of materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, or brass, and come in various sizes to fit different pipe diameters. They can be designed for either standard or high-pressure applications.
To ensure a proper seal, the threaded flange is typically used in combination with a gasket and a set of bolts. The gasket is placed between the flange faces to prevent leakage, and the bolts are tightened to a specified torque to hold the flanges securely together.
One advantage of threaded flanges is that they can be easily installed and removed without the need for special tools or equipment. However, they are generally not recommended for use in high-temperature or high-pressure applications, as the threads may become damaged or fail under extreme conditions.
With the help of a variable orifice, these gauge snubbers protect pressure gauges by reducing fluctuations.
